Tales from Claire Creek

November 2, 2009

Welcome to Claire Creek, Gentle, rolling Claire Creek is the cradle to a small town civilization trying to maintain its identity as the world invades.

Season 1 : Convergence

  • Chapter 1 Hallelujah – They rode in silence for a few minutes, the geriatric car slowly climbing the dark mountain road. Headlights illuminating ochre rock spires to their right.
  • Chapter 2 The Last Testament of Jacob Daniels – As for why I did what I did, that will take some explaining. It was late last evening when I was headed home from work at the factory that I encountered a pair of men I had never met before.
  • Chapter 3 Fishing –  Sheriff Brown and Dr. Allen sat on the banks of Claire Creek fishing. Well, not so much fishing as drinking, while their poles rested on a pair of rocks at their feet, lines dangling in the water.
  • Chapter 4 Poetry of Sheriff Brown –  Sheriff Brown is the central character of the Claire Creek stories. Although no one character other than the town itself appears in every story, every primary character interacts with the Sheriff at some point during the series. His symbolic role as the executer of the social contract in Claire Creek makes him the symbol of the community’s best and worst binding common characteristics.
  • Chapter 5 Joseph – There was very little he could do about the fact that he was alone, in the rain, with the wind smacking him in the face like an angry woman, repeatedly. His entire wardrobe, 3 pairs of pants, 4 shirts, and 2 jackets, were currently on his body which made the experience somewhat less spirit killing. However, he had lost his hat to an angry dog several days ago…

Season 2: Unifying Theory of Almost Everything

  • Chapter 1 Do Not Enter -He hung from his bonds, barely able to hold himself upright any longer, shaking his head, “Alright. Listen I am Gabriel, Archangel and Messenger of God. Demons, servants of the Evil One have done this to me.
  • Chapter 2 Maria – “Maria! How are you?” Howard stood up and smiled over-large white teeth in a perfect row from out his perfect round face covered by perfectly cropped brown hair at Maria standing in the doorway to the Sheriff’s office. The dirty screen door slammed closed behind her, diffusing the mid-day sun into a soft, warm glow.
